Book Review: Ascension, The Earthly Death and Departure of A Saint of God by Robert L. Shepherd Jr.
Ascension, The Earthly Death and Departure of a Saint of God by Robert L. Shepherd Jr. explores the profound journey of mankind as a spiritual figure, as they transition from earthly existence to their heavenly reward.
In addition, it heralds a warning to those who have not prepared themselves for the coming of our Lord.
Nevertheless, it broaches upon the delicate topic of death not as a finality, but as an ascension—a passage that celebrates the faith, legacy, and ultimate homecoming of a true believer.
The book is grounded in Christian theology, drawing on biblical principles and spiritual reflections to frame the concept of death as a moment of victory and fulfillment for the faithful.
One of the strengths of the work is the passionate attempt the writer makes to drive home the point that because the reader will one day ascend into the very presence of God, whether it comes from his or her natural demise, or from one’s ascension by the rapture, it is necessary to represent Christ in the earth. The author says, “saints we are ambassadors in a foreign country {pg.23).” In doing so, the author encourages believers to view earthly death not with fear, but with anticipation for a reunion with the divine, especially for those who have come to know Jesus by faith; quoting the Apostle Paul, he leads one to the conclusion that, no matter, sickness or death, we will leave the body and be in God’s present when they die; as a result, our journey here is to fit us for the permanent dwelling place we will have with God.

I am a devout Christian with a Catholic background but now have embraced the Full Gospel denomination. I have read the book America Fights Back, America Fights Back 2 along with the History of the Democratic Party. These books reflect the biblical position of politics according to HIS Word.

As a Minister of the gospel, I recommend that every young minister should read the book. “Exposing The Devil”. It is such a powerful book in understanding spiritual warfare. Again, it is a must read.

Amazement is all I can say about the content of Robert Shephers’s writings. He writes about Sin to Heaven and Hell and everything in between. Among the 55 books he has written, I have enjoyed “In Tune With His Spirit” which is a collection of poems that would be a perfect gift for any adult.

I have found that Prophet Shepherd teachings and books to be a path for teaching others how to study and go deeper into God’s words. I have learned so much which has given me more confidence to know that God really can do exceedingly and abundantly more that I could ever think or ask

I have read very few books other than my Bible. However, after reading Robert’s book, The Power of the Blood, I found a new insight or a newfound appreciation for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This book is very insightful making references straight from the Word of God that provides spiritual nuggets of understanding what HIS resurrection really means to us as Christians.
